Steel Plate Blanking and Piercing Stamping Die
Steel plate blanking and piercing stamping die is a precision tool used in mechanical press lines to cut and perforate sheet metal parts in one stroke. The die combines a blanking station and piercing stations, producing flat profile parts with holes directly from coil or sheet stock.
How It Works
The upper die (punch) descends against the fixed lower die (die plate). As the punch enters the die opening, the sheet metal is sheared along the cutting edge. Piercing punches create holes at the same station, so the finished part exits the press as a single blank with all features already formed.
Key Features
High cutting precision with close tolerances on hole position and profile dimensions.
Hardened tool steel inserts (Cr12MoV, SKD11, or D2) for long die life.
Guide pin and bushing alignment ensures repeatable stroke alignment.
Custom blank shapes and hole patterns engineered to the part drawing.
Suitable for mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and copper sheets.
Applications
Used for producing brackets, washers, mounting plates, electrical enclosure parts, and automotive sheet metal components. Typical material thickness ranges from 0.5 mm to 6 mm.
Conclusion
A well-designed blanking and piercing die delivers high output at low per-part cost, making it the standard process for medium- to high-volume sheet metal production.
